Meet Lucas!

Lucas is an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner registered with the Association of Osteopaths of New Brunswick (AONB). Lucas found his passion for anatomy and biomechanics through his experience as a competitive football quarterback, where his interest in movement mechanics first took root. These interests, combined with his experiences rehabilitating his own injuries, inspired him to help others in a similar manner. This led him to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Waterloo, where he also played varsity football for the Waterloo Warriors.

After graduation, Lucas gained valuable hands-on experience as a Rehabilitation Assistant in a multidisciplinary clinic, treating patients of all ages with a variety of conditions. His commitment to helping others achieve optimal health led him to further his studies at the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy. Here, he deepened his understanding of the body’s innate ability to heal and self-regulate.

Lucas’ approach to treatment as an Osteopath focuses on identifying and treating the root cause of pain or dysfunction, always adapting his techniques to meet each patient’s unique needs. His ultimate goal is to help patients feel stronger, more confident, and durable in their own bodies.

In his spare time, Lucas stays active by going to the gym, hiking, and participating in a variety of sports. He’s a supporter of Liverpool FC and the Atlanta Falcons, and is always sure to catch a game when he can. If he’s not outdoors or watching sports, you may find him exploring new restaurants or enjoying a good cup of coffee.

Meet Mats!

Mats was born and raised in Saint John, NB before moving to Fredericton, NB to pursue a degree in Kinesiology. Mats wanted to advance his understanding of health and the human body. He enrolled in the Osteopathic Manipulative Sciences program at the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy which focuses on learning the classical principles of osteopathy. During his 2nd year of the program, he was awarded Student of the Year. After graduating in early 2021, he began practicing as an Osteopath in Hamilton, Ontario. Mats’ philosophy of treatment is based on the principles of Osteopathy where each patient is treated as an individual and the purpose is to find their root cause of pain and dysfunction in the body.

Before becoming an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner, Mats pursued his personal training certification through CSEP where he practiced at UNB Recreational Services in the Richard J. Currie Center on the UNB Fredericton campus. Here he taught multiple classes for persons with disabilities including AXON for persons suffering from neurological disorders such as Alzheimer’s; classes for persons with skeletal disorders, such as osteoporosis; and classes for cardiovascular health prevention and recovery.

Outside of his career as an Osteopath, Mats has always enjoyed sport and exercise. Growing up he played hockey and baseball competitively, including on the UNB Baseball Team during his undergraduate program. Mats now enjoys the recreational side of sport. His other hobbies include board games, standup comedy shows, playing guitar, and spending time with his future wife and 2 cats.
